Salted Caramel Butter Bars

These are extraordinarily rich and super hard to stop eating. I usually cut the below recipe in half and use an 8×8″ pan.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb salted butter
    1 cup sugar
    1.5 cups powdered sugar
    2 TBSP + 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    4 cups flour
    About 50 caramel candies (such as Kraft–about 1.5 bags)
    1/3 cup milk or cream
    1 TBSP coarse sea salt

Do-Aheads

  • Set butter out to soften to room temp
